For the Love of Birds in Maine

"Only One Transition - from my home to yours!

**Update - 3/06/06**

Due to health reasons, I am not breeding Cockatiels and Lovebirds.

I have no birds available at this time.

Loveofbirds.com will remain. When I feel better, I hope to update this site in the future and add additional fun and informative pages.

Thanks for joining us here at For the Love of Birds in Maine.  We raise Cockatiels and Lovebirds as pets in our loving family home.  These birds are raised in our sunny bird room - adjoining our kitchen and living room.  As a result, they are sweet and cuddly, enjoy people as well as other birds, and are ready to be pets in your home.

In the morning the birds are given a home cooked meal that includes all kinds of wonderful and healthy foods.  If only people ate this well.  Then, all the babies are handfed, beginning at ages 2 - 3 weeks.  During the day, all the babies get time for flight training, cuddling and playtime.  The older birds are also let out for playtime, once all the babies are fed.

Check these links for more specifics on Diet, Flight Training, Weaning, Socialization, and Recipes.  And be sure to check our Avian Links page for information on cockatiel and lovebird care and much more!  Also, check out our Links to Species-specific  Avian Message Boards

Please take a look at pictures of our Available Babies.  Contact Ellen at loveofbirds.com to make an appointment to meet these sweeties and for more information.  We would love to have you come to our Maine home to visit.  Hours are by appointment only.  The birds in the border are all birds that have been hatched in our home at one time or another.

We do not ship our birds.  I only sell my babies directly to people who come to my home.  We do not sell breeder birds.  The only birds we have for sale are handfed babies that were hatched here and raised to be pets in your home.  Also, we are no longer taking in birds that others can no longer care for.  We have reached our limit.  We do not sell birds that have been placed here.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Ellen
